As a dedicated attachment for excavators, it mainly relies on hydraulic power to open and close its jaws, enabling the crushing, shearing and pulverizing of concrete, masonry, steel and other materials. It is also known as a pulverizer or concrete crusher.
Structure & Working Principle
The main body of this hydraulic pulverizer consists of a jaw assembly, a hydraulic drive unit and a connecting structure:
- Jaw Assembly: Equipped with sharp teeth, it can bite and compress materials to break them into small pieces.
- Hydraulic System: Driven by high-pressure hydraulic oil from the excavator, the oil cylinder actuates the jaws to open and close rapidly, generating strong squeezing and shearing forces.
- Connecting Structure: It can be directly mounted to the excavator arm, compatible with construction machinery of various tonnages.
Correct Operation & Safety Precautions for Hydraulic Pulverizer
1. Carefully read the operation manual of the hydraulic pulverizer to avoid damage to the pulverizer and excavator, and ensure efficient operation.
2. Before operation, check for loose bolts and connectors, and inspect hydraulic lines for leaks.
3. Do not operate the hydraulic pulverizer when the cylinder piston rod is fully extended or fully retracted.
4. Hydraulic hoses must not be sharply bent or worn. Replace damaged hoses immediately to prevent rupture and injury.
5. When installing the hydraulic pulverizer to an excavator or other construction machinery, the working pressure and flow rate of the host hydraulic system must meet the technical specifications of the pulverizer. Connect the “P” port of the pulverizer to the host high-pressure oil circuit, and the “A” port to the host return oil circuit.
6. The optimal hydraulic oil temperature for operation is 50–60°C, and the maximum temperature must not exceed 80°C. Otherwise, reduce the hydraulic load.
7. Operators should inspect the sharpness of the pulverizer teeth daily. Replace dull teeth promptly.
8. Do not place hands or any body parts under the jaws or other moving parts to prevent accidents.
