In November 2023, the construction machinery industry operated smoothly. Sales of truck-mounted cranes, industrial vehicles, and aerial work platforms increased year-on-year. Nine types of construction machinery products, including excavators, loaders, motor graders, truck cranes, tower cranes, crawler cranes, rollers, pavers, and lifting work platforms, declined year-on-year.
Excavators
In November 2023, 14,924 excavators of all types were sold, down 37 percent year-on-year, including 7,484 domestic units, down 48 percent year-on-year; Exports of 7,440 units, down 19.8% year-on-year.
From January to November 2023, a total of 178,320 excavators were sold, down 27.1% year-on-year; Among them, 82,355 were domestically sold, down 43.5% year-on-year; Exports of 95,965 units, down 2.81% year-on-year.
Loaders
In November 2023, 8,873 loaders of all kinds were sold nationwide, down 34.7% year-on-year. Among them, domestic sales were 5,200 units, down 48.4% year-on-year; Export sales were 3,673 units, up 4.73 percent year-on-year.
From January to November 2023, a total of 94,494 various types of loaders were sold, down 17.8% year-on-year. Among them, 50,953 units were sold in the domestic market, down 32.7% year-on-year; Export sales were 43,541 units, up 11.1% year-on-year.
A total of 3,079 electric loaders (15 3-ton, 2,344 5-ton, 720 6-ton) were sold from January to November 2023, of which 543 were sold in November.
Motor grader
According to statistics by the China Construction Machinery Association of major motor grader manufacturers, 525 units of various types of motor graders were sold in November 2023, down 22.2% year-on-year. Among them, 75 units were sold domestically, down 43.6% year-on-year. 450 units were exported, down 17 percent from the previous year.
According to statistics by the China Construction Machinery Association of major truck crane manufacturers, 1,566 truck cranes of all types were sold in November 2023, down 9.16% year-on-year. Among them, 1,019 were sold domestically, down 1.92% year-on-year. 547 were exported, down 20.1% from the previous year.
Crawler cranes
According to statistics of major manufacturers of crawler cranes by the China Construction Machinery Association, 253 units of various types of crawler cranes were sold in November 2023, down 6.99% year-on-year. Among them, 98 units were sold domestically, down 40.6% year-on-year. The export volume was 155 units, up 44.9% year-on-year.
Truck-mounted cranes
According to statistics of major manufacturers of truck-mounted cranes by the China Construction Machinery Association, 1,717 truck-mounted cranes of all types were sold in November 2023, up 113% year-on-year. Among them, 1,265 were sold domestically, up 121% year-on-year. 452 were exported, up 94% from the previous year.
Tower crane
According to statistics of major tower crane manufacturers by the China Construction Machinery Association, 1,069 tower cranes of all types were sold in November 2023, down 38.8% year-on-year. Among them, 943 were sold domestically, down 42.8% year-on-year. 126 were exported, up 29.9 percent from a year ago.
Industrial vehicles
According to statistics by the China Construction Machinery Association of major forklift manufacturers, 99,876 forklifts of all types were sold in November 2023, up 20.8% year-on-year. Among them, 61,988 were sold domestically, up 19.6% year-on-year; Exports of 37,888 units, up 23 percent from the previous year.
Road roller
According to statistics by the China Construction Machinery Association of major manufacturers of road rollers, 837 units of various types of road rollers were sold in November 2023, down 33.1% year-on-year. Among them, 401 units were sold domestically, down 47.2% year-on-year. 436 were exported, down 11.6% from the previous year.
Pavers
According to statistics by the China Construction Machinery Association of major paver manufacturers, 79 various types of pavers were sold in November 2023, down 42.3% year-on-year. Among them, 57 were sold domestically, down 55.8% year-on-year. 22 were exported, up 175% from the previous year.
Lifting work platform
According to statistics by the China Construction Machinery Association of major manufacturers of lifting work platforms, 10,851 units of various types of lifting work platforms were sold in November 2023, a year-on-year decrease of 18.1%. Among them, 6,757 units were sold domestically, a year-on-year decrease of 9.44%. 4,094 units were exported, down 29.3% from the previous year.
Aerial work platforms
According to statistics of major manufacturers of aerial work platforms by the China Construction Machinery Association, 355 units of various types of aerial work platforms were sold in November 2023, up 61.4% year-on-year. Among them, 350 units were sold domestically, up 59.1% year-on-year. Five were exported, an increase of five from the same period last year.
